Plot Summary: Marie Aubrey Villaceran “SINIGANG”
The plot revolves around Liza’s dealings with her father’s extramarital affair with Sylvia, which resulted in the birth of a son, Lem. The story was set in Liza’s home, where she and her aunt, Tita Loleng, were preparing sinigang, her father’s favorite dish.

In human life, many mistakes are made because they say “people make mistakes” We all make mistakes, have struggles, and even regret things from our past. The story Sinigang shows the events that take place in the family in real life. It is not easy to forgive, but it is comforting to give another chance and remove the thorn in the heart that has been nurtured for so long. But it is not that easy for us to understand because we are not in the same box as they are.

The only thing I took up from the Sinigang story, which I’m sure you can learn from as well, is to accept and forgive others’ sentiments and mistakes. Liza’s father has done a major sin and a lack of it that may be paralleled to real life, but we must choose to forgive more and that we can be free of the past’s constraints. Accepting someone’s feelings is very necessary just like in the narrative we all have our own difficulties that we are unaware that it is too heavy for them. Liza’s story is very sad to go through to that experiences, many deficiencies and mistakes that have been made to her.

There is a very important part shown in this story that even if the family goes through something, in the end forgiveness will bind them together. I admire the skill of writing this story because even if you don’t experience it, he will take you to the event itself that will evoke the feelings and lessons that can be learned from it.

Mistakes they made to you will lead you to a dark place, but forgiveness will accompany you into the light you deserve.
